Birthday Cake

I was pretty proud of the birthday cake I made for Connor.  And I loved the teal/purple combination!

She tried to be shy and cover her face when we sang Happy Birthday, but she was still all smiles!

Johnson, party of 4!

Connor, scoping out the birthday treats...

Let's blow out the candle!

And then we gave the cake to Connor.  Who was not interested in touching it, eating it, and definitely not smashing it.

Not much of a mess to clean up!

And now for the family photos: At birthday parties we try to get a picture of the birthday kid with everyone in attendance!
Here's Jed's side of the family: Grandma Janie and Grandpa Jerry; Aunt Morgan and Uncle Jay; Uncle Carl and Aunt Jena; Great-Grandma Lucille; and Great-Grandma Erma and Great-Grandpa George.

Random picture of Connor in her new snow boots...

Jace and Jay taking in some of the Royals' game...

And my side of the family: Grandma Carol and Grandpa Jerry; Uncle Aaron and Aunt Melissa; Great-Grandma Darlyne and Great-Grandpa Richard; and Uncle Derek.  Unfortunately, Cassidy and Kyler were both sick, so Jennifer stayed home with them.

Birthday Presents

So Connor had a birthday.  And a party.  She decided she needed a nap about when it was time for everyone to eat, so when she woke up, she wanted to eat instead of open presents!  Lucky for her, big brother Jace was there to help!

Connor loves loves loves this couch.  Over it, under it, on top of it, doesn't matter, she loves it.
(Notice the Royals' game on the TV?)

Like I said, could have cared less about anyone or anything, aside from the goldfish in her cup.

Jace had the best view in the house!

Two of her favorite uncles, giving her some love and tickling those feet!

And part of the décor for the party...hard to believe she came home from the hospital in that little outfit!

September Cuties...

Cassidy turned 9 months...and I've been learning to do more with my camera.  She doesn't smile much...seriously.  But, got some good ones!

Put my children in front of the camera and they immediately start to "cheese"...

Kyler was willing...so we threw her in!

{Phone} Pumpkins and Tractors

When harvest started I took a turn running the grain cart...someone thought she was big stuff sitting in a seat all by herself!  Made a mess eating cheetohs...but she was content and let me concentrate!

This little piggy loves to eat!

Some of our pumpkin creations!  Mrs. Powell was the first name I did...and the last.  That was hard!  Then we had to do a pumpkin letter for everyone else: Colton, Kyler, Cassidy, Jace and Connor!

One day at Barb's they were having a tea party and they were supposed to wear a nice shirt.  Jace wasn't excited about this girly tea-party, so I picked out this shirt, gave him his hat, and told him it was a Cowboy tea-party.  AND.....then we was excited.

Moving pumpkins is HARD work!

And, Jace in the combine.  Doesn't take long sometimes to fall asleep!

{Phone} September Randomness...

The things he gets Connor to do...

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!  She loves riding in the wagon down the hills!

Looks like Dad is the only one sleeping in this picture...

Tried to save our pumpkins when they were warning about the first frost.  Only had enough blankets to cover one vine though!

I think this was at our first K-State watch party...Cooper Albers, Jace, and Colton.

Jed and I at the Royals' game we went to in September.

This was during a ride through a field....don't worry, not on a real road!  Sleepy girl!

Back to School!

Jace got his first day of school picture with Dad at "Back to School" night, because Dad will be hunting elk on the actual first day of school!

And now the first day of school!  He is in 4-year-old preschool with Mrs. Stock and Mrs. Wiedmer.  When I asked him who was going to be in his class he said, "Kyler and Riley" (Riley Grable.)  Last year Jace and Riley were the only "farm kids" in their class.

Jena met us outside to take our picture...so we got one with her too!  She has moved to 4th grade this year.

Had to chase Kyler around the room, but got their picture!

Jennifer picked him up and sent me this picture!

And when we got home that night Jace still asked if he could give Connor her bottle.  That's a perfect way to relax after a long day at school!
(And for those of you wondering, yes, she is 11 months old, and yes, she will hold her own bottle.  We just like to do it.  It's some great relaxing time.)

And because they looked so cute Friday...here is Jace's 2nd day of school!

Oh, and here is how Connor celebrated the first day of school.  Yippee!!

And this morning, this is what was happening repeatedly...standing up all by herself!  Yay Connor!
