It's a GIRL!

So, I had a doctor appointment on September 27th, the official due date.  Found out my blood pressure was high, and ended up doing a sonogram and non-stress test to check on baby, and everything looked good, but my doctor wanted to not wait any longer and wanted to induce me the following Monday, September 30th.  Baby had other ideas....I woke up at 5 a.m. on the 28th with what I thought was back pain...but was really contractions.  Jed and I went to the hospital around 10 that morning, and stayed there until 1, when they gave us the choice to stay or go.  Mostly because they didn't have any rooms!  I wasn't making any progress, so we decided to leave, and immediately started having more contractions.  So, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings to eat some lunch, and I was having contractions the entire time.  Still not convinced they would keep me at the hospital we went to Dick's to get some scent-free hunting spray for Jed, and again, having contractions the whole time.  Didn't take me long to decide I would have fit in better at WalMart as miserable and big as I looked! Here are some pictures we took before leaving for the hospital!

 

 

So we went back to the hospital around 4 I think, and they immediately decided to admit me.  It helped that they now had a room open.  After they about killed me trying to put my IV in, (okay, not really, but it was a student nurse and I hate that anyway, and they had to try again in my left arm after they couldn't get it on my right....) we got our own room and some absolutely amazing nurses.  Got an epidural right away, and it helped tremendously, as all my labor was in my back.  With Jace it was in my back too and the epidural didn't help at all...this time it helped so much.  I don't remember what time they broke my water, maybe around 7?  But it seemed like around 7:30 or so I started feeling like I wanted to push!  Ironically, the doctor on call was busy, so our nurse brought in a midwife/nurse to deliver our baby.  Connor LeAnn was born at 8:13 p.m.....and let's just say I could not believe it was a girl.  Thought for sure she would be another boy!

We called Jace first and let him know he got a baby SISTER...but didn't have a name decided on!  So we decided on Connor LeAnn and then called the rest of the family.  Jace and the grandparents came over around 10 p.m. to meet our little girl.

In the meantime, my #1 helper and I made some apple crisp...

In other September news...

Jed has created a monster.  Jace turns on the water and starts shoving the hose in the ground because he is "chasing moles."

Hard to believe that 3 is going to turn into 4, and then 5 kiddos in a couple of months!

 

Funny story:  Jed made a trip to Illinois to get some corn-head parts and stopped at Moline, IL on his way back.  That's the John Deere headquarters.  So they (my dad went with him) toured and looked at the equipment of course, and Jed sent some pictures.  Jace saw the first picture, and went and laid on the floor crying, "I wanted to go there too!"  Hmmm....vacation next summer?

 

Every day is game day in our house.  Nap time!  K-State blanket, pillow, jersey, and shorts.  And this was on a Sunday.  And yes, he did this all by himself.

 

Mom's new toy...that I won't be using for awhile...but with some supervision, Jace thinks it is fun!

 

This morning on our way to PreSchool.  It was the first day of "Show and Share."  He took "El Chubacabara" from the movie "Planes."  I asked him what he was going to tell the class about the plane and he said, "I'm going to tell them, Don't Break It!"

September is a BIG month in our house.

Jace starts Preschool!

At open house we could barely get him to take some time to pose with his teacher, Mrs. Stock.

 

 

The first day was FINALLY here!  Since he is now the oldest kid at the babysitters, he has been watching a lot of other kids go to school until it was his turn to start!

 

Me and my baby!  Okay, so he isn't a baby, but he is one of my two most-favorite-guys in the world!

 

Poor kid...had to duck his head to get out of the way of that belly!  37 weeks pregnant in this picture!

 

Since Christmas he has turned from Mommy's boy to Daddy's buddy...and he is super excited that Jed is taking him to school.

 

And he's off for his first day!

**When I asked him about his first day he said it was fun, but they had to color an apple, and "Mom, it was not easy."  When I asked him why, I finally got it out of him that it was hard because you had to color inside the apple and stay in the lines.  It is tough being 3 years old!

 

**In other news, September is supposed to be baby month...so we are anxiously waiting!  Jace thinks it's a boy, I think boy, Jed says girl....

At my doctor's appointment last week we found out baby was breech...has been head down for 9 months, and now it turns breech!  We went to the hospital Friday morning so the doctor could attempt an "External Cephalic Version" which basically means she was going to push and push and try to turn baby around...but we got there and baby had already switched back to being head down!  I remember feeling as though the baby pushed off with it's feet and flipped over to turn breech, and I had thought that it was moving so much it felt like it was moving sideways in a circle to turn back around....who knew it really did!  So, we have a few weeks until due date!
