A week of Milestones...

Beginning with Connor's first haircut...by me!  I couldn't take the toddler-mullet any longer...so trimmed off the back.  It looks like I cut a lot of hair, but it didn't seem like that much!  It makes her look so much older!

Jed's dad bought a new semi, so of course the kids had to check it out.  I love these pictures...obviously the picture on the right shows how Jace loves to push Connor's buttons...and Connor can get really mad at him!

We harvested our potatoe crop!  It was hot...and Connor spent the time playing in the dirt...so excuse the messy kids!

Connor actually slept when Jed put her in bed with him...that's a first!  I was getting ready for Melissa's shower, so he went up and got her and laid her in bed with him and off to sleep they went!  Notice her hair---looking a little wild!

And we went swimming at Jena and Carl's on Saturday evening...Jace begs to hold Baby Brook...and Connor actually sat by them without being crazy, so it was picture time!  I think this is the first picture of just the COUSINS!

And another milestone, not pictured: We separated the kids during church for the first time.  We had them sitting between us, and Connor was cranky (imagine that...), so Jed moved Jace to the other side of him.  She knows what she wants, when she wants it, and if you are in her way, watch out!  

Great-Grandpa George Turns 90!

TBall Champs

Our TBall season finally ended.

I swear this was always their favorite part...

Everyone got medals.  Yes, it's one of those kind of things...

But as far as Jace is concerned, his team got medals because they won all their games, and the other teams didn't.

Even though we don't keep score...

Shenanigans...

When you are out really, super late, several nights in a row, and the nights previous to that you scream for an hour before going to sleep....you end up crashing on the couch while watching one of your favorite movies...

Grandma J dug out some oldie-goldies in the realm of tractor toys!  Since it is hay season, Jace got to bring home a mower and rake to play with!

He is becoming so self-sufficient....got out some paper to put on the table before he got out the paints all by himself...and found a way to get to the soap to wash his hands!

Just one of those boring days at home...my favorite days.  Made their day by letting them eat lunch in the living room....just peanut butter for Connor, don't trust her in there with jelly!

Royals VS. Tampa Bay

We decided a long time ago if we were going to take Jace to a Royals game this summer...this was the game.  It was the only 1:10 week day game this summer.  We lucked out and the weather was great for July!

Last year-----This year.

Jace's favorite part of the game...when the field crew comes out with the John Deere rakes and smooths up the field!

We had great seats--they were upper deck, but not nosebleed upper deck, and on the second row of the upper deck.  Fantastic.  On the first baseline, so we could see really good!

When they win, there are two things I get really excited about...and always forget to watch for when I'm actually at the game!

This is the first: You can barely see him between the A-L of HALL, but this guy looks like he is the janitor, and his job is to take the "W" out to mark a Win.

This is the second.  EVERY TIME they win, Salvador Perez dumps water on whoever is being interviewed.  EVERY. TIME.

Sometimes, you just have to drop everything and head to a Royals game.  Family time.  You can't replace it.  And as busy we are, family time is really valuable to us.

And yes, we had family time without Connor.  There are just some things she isn't ready for yet...and it's nice to have "Jace" day.  :)
