Pumpkins and Deer

Our pumpkin experiment didn't turn out too bad.  Even though the frost killed our pumpkins several weeks before Halloween, they continued to turn orange.  We ended up with a pretty good looking "J" "A" and little "J".

 

 

Jace got to carve pumpkins with Aunt Jena.

 

And, last, Jed got a deer.  With his bow.  Colton was pretty excited.

 

Jace wasn't too sure about it at first, and didn't really want much to do with it, but would pose for a picture at least!

Pun-kin Patch

We took a trip back to the Mulberry Pond pumpkin patch last weekend.  Jace made himself right at home, with the animals and the corn...but wouldn't do the slide this year.  Here' some pictures from our day!

We tried.

Last year the pumpkins were too big and rotted before October got here.

This year, they were starting to get orange and a frost got them.

Darn.

Someone suggested to Jed that we scratch letters into the pumpkins, so we tried it and it worked!  You can kind of see the J on the pumpkin...
