Bedtime

We spend time playing in our tractor tent and tunnel every night now...

Jace really likes the windows you can see out of!

Our living room is a little full right now with our new birthday toys.

Jace has to tell the tractor and tunnel "Bye" when we leave in the morning, and when we go to bed.  He was even giving it a kiss goodnight in this picture!

Jace's bedroom is also full.  The night of Jace's birthday party he didn't want to go to sleep, and I watched him once and then Jed saw him once get out of his crib.  Just halfway out, but far enough.  So, I guess if he tries it again, at least he will hit the mattress first.

And, we have to read through the quiet book that Grandma Carol made for him for his birthday.  This is going to be great during church!  AND any other time he is supposed to be quiet!  HA!

Can't believe this happened...

It took a while to convince Jace we needed to go back up to the house...

And he WANTED to pick up sticks.  Too bad he was picking them up in the timber, and bringing them into the yard!

But, we are getting some sticks in a pile for a fire!

Yep, that sounds like a good idea!

Our dump truck is working hard!

We found SNOW in the yard!  I don't know what kind of tree this is...but it's shedding, especially when you shake it.

If you can see the bottom of his chin we have quite the "ouchie."  Took a dive off of a cement pad, onto some rocks.  Ouch.  Took it like a champ though!

It's back to work.  Jace and I "helped" Jed on Sunday...

Jace turned 2 last Friday!  Hard to believe, but he is definitely growing up!  We had a rough week...Jed and Jace both went to the doctor on Monday, both getting medicine, and Jed testing positive for strep, and then me getting sick Thursday, probably with strep...so it was a miracle we were still able to have his party as schedule.  But the day was PERFECT!  Weather was so beautiful, it was like a summer barbecue! 

We started with some parachutes and smoke bombs...Uncle Derek supervised....

Grilled hotdogs and burgers...and apparently the food on Colton's plate looked better than what Jace had...

Jace was a hoot the whole day...especially after one of the balloons got away and Jed shot it down..."Daddy-balloon!"  And Jace had to tell EVERYONE.

Of course he wanted each present opened...in this picture he is begging the grandma's to open it for him!

Some things never change....

Jace got SO many great presents!  And we have been playing with them all!  Here's a big dump truck for his sandbox from Mom and Dad...that he thought he was going to ride on.

Ahhh.....the cake.  Whew....cake decorating is tedious work...but it turned out alright!  And Jace was SO excited all day about the tractor cake on the table!

We are so thankful to have so many family members to celebrate with...Jace had a great time!

Going for a Walk....

Jace and I took a walk last week....hoping to happen upon some early mushrooms, but no such luck.  Here's Jace, telling me to "C'Mere" and see the deer blind that Jed and Derek built this winter.

Of course Angus was there to help.

We have been outside a lot lately, and have been wearing shorts!  Yesterday we got ready to go outside and Jace insisted on wearing his boots.  He was ready to get outside and do some work!

A Sleepover and a Birthday Party

Jace got to have his cousins Colton and Kyler, or "ColtandKy" as he refers to them, over for a sleepover this Friday night.  We let them stay up late on Friday night, and when we finally made Jace and Kyler sit down with me, they were both asleep in less than 5 minutes.

Saturday morning Jace practiced his dunking while in the middle of an aggressive game of Shirts vs. Skins with Colton....

Kyler was willing to say "cheese" while we were eating lunch...

 

And then it was birthday party time!  Kyler turned 2!  She had lots of help opening gifts...

Kyler's face was HILARIOUS while we sang Happy Birthday.  She looked so scared or maybe just confused!

While Jennifer was getting ready to cut and serve the cake, Colton got a little impatient and licked the top of the ice cream in the ice cream carton.  Yep, Jed was the only one that saw it, except I caught it on video tape, and we all watched it.  So here, Colton has frosting all over his face thanks to Uncle Jed's payback.

Kyler got some new wheels from Uncle Blaine and Aunt Tarin...and it was popular with everyone!

Even Jace took a turn in the pretty pink car!
