Little Peanut

Since several people, especially some of my TMS students, referred to Jace as "Peanut" before he was born, I can't help but post a picture of this outfit that Aunt Melissa gave him!

He likes it!!!!

We've not been getting much sleep at night, Jace thinks it's time to play! And anytime we try to put him in his crib he is immediately awake and mad! Last night he actually slept in his crib for a couple hours at a time, woohoo! Earlier in the day I wrapped him in a SwaddleMe blanket, and he slept in his crib then. Well, he proceeded to pee all over that, so we just wrapped him up in a blanket, and that seemed to do the trick! Here's hoping that tonight will also go well!!!!

Jace stretches in his crib after a long (2 hours), restful sleep.

Latest happenings....

Since we've been home Jace has been busy! It's a hard life: sleep all day, play all night. That's right, Mr. Jace seems to have his nights and days mixed up, but he'll get it figured out! In the mean time, he has been busy watching basketball, meeting more people, and just getting used to his new home. We went to the doctor today for a checkup, and everything looks good! His jaundice is still there a little bit, but nothing to be concerned about. He weighs 8 lbs, 5 oz., and is 21 inches long. Here are some photos of his recent activities:

I did not do this! I keep trying to straighten him out, but this seems to be a comfortable position! And apparently the sun was too bright, so he needed to cover his eyes!

Jace and his cousin Kyler watch the K-State game Saturday. Notice the enthusiasm! Colton (Kyler's big brother) walked in to see them sitting by each other and exclaimed, "Oh, there's TWO of them!"

Jace and Aunt Jena watch the K-State game. Looks like he's got some big shoes to fill....Uncle Derek was excited to see him wearing his knee-high socks!

Colton was also there to watch the game, or at least to keep anyone entertained! This is his expression anytime you ask him to "Say Cheese!"

Great Grandma Darlyne Johnson (Angela's Grandma) finally got to meet Jace for the first time.

Great Grandpa Richard Johnson (Angela's Grandpa) was also there to meet Jace for the first time.

Jace helps Dad with some work at the end of the day.

Home Sweet Home

We were able to get home around 7:00 last evening (26th). Feels good to be home, and will feel even better to be out of the ever so comfortable hospital beds!

Aunt Melissa and Aaron came over last evening to see the new man!

We're going home!

Jace is spending today "tanning" but we are going to be heading home this evening! Here's a picture of the lights he's been living under since Thursday morning. He is MUCH better!

One More Day...

We thought we were going to take Jace home today, but that's not going to happen! Jace has jaundice, so he is spending the day "in the tropics" as the nursery nurses call it. He will spend 24 hours under the lights and then maybe tomorrow he will be able to go home.

Aunt Jennifer and Kyler came to see us today, and we tried to get another picture.....they appear to be ignoring each other. I think you can kind of tell he is yellowish in this picture, but he is looking much better this afternoon. Hopefully he continues to improve so he can go home tomorrow!
