Flashback....

Found a few more pictures from "meeting time" on my camera...

Had to share this one...Brook's first Performance Ag customer meeting!!

The Troy Crew:
Curtis, Joe, Brenda and Jed

With family:
Curtis, Jaime and Cooper; Joe and Emily; Brenda; and Jed, Angela and Jace
(Yes, we are missing baby Claire and Connor...Claire was already home in bed and Connor was running a fever so she was home with Grandma!)

The Beattie Crew:
Rod, Chris, Brenda, and Travis

And the whole crew, minus kids:
Jed, Angela, Joe, Emily, Rod, Brenda, Chris, Travis, Brandee, Jaime and Curtis.

Meeting time!

Jed's grandparents always try to come to the meeting...

And we had to get a picture of Curtis and Jaime...first official meeting week...they survived!

Fun's over.

Summer's over.  Back to school.

Took all summer, but the day before I had to go back to work Connor got this shiner.  She was on one side of Jace's bed and he was on the other--he tossed his nerf gun up on the bed and it slid across and hit her in the eye...thank goodness it didn't bleed much!

Sad to leave these two....even though we have had some rough days...love every minute I get to spend with them!

Connor has recently discovered lip gloss...now if only she would figure out it is only for her lips...

And the end of summer means this guy is headed to Kindergarten.

I'm trying to keep it together.  It's hard.

We do SO much together.  He is THE BEST helper.  Ornery, yes.  Gets in trouble?  Of course.  But he is an amazing kid.  And he has amazed me this summer how he is so much like a "sponge"...absorbing everything he hears and sees...
And I know in a matter of weeks he will seem so much older.  Heck, in I think just 3 weeks he will read his first word.  And it will be amazing to watch him learn and grow.
But, I know he is going to have fun.  A LOT of fun.

He told me the other day that he was getting big enough to farm all the time, so he wouldn't be around to help me at home anymore.  Sob.

And let's not forget this girl--one of his best friends.  They are starting this new adventure together...kind of.  She is in the other kindergarten, but it will still be fun.

Jennifer put this collage together...WOW.  They were just babies when they started school...

And this was just back-to-school night....I'll really be a mess when the "real" first day of school is here.  But, he is going to be SOOOOOO excited!

It's what I love about Sundays...

This is a very rare occurrence at our house.  We had nothing to do!

So we made cookies...

Took a nap....(and I even got to join them!)

Then went for a ranger ride to the shop...

And put a new sticker on the trailer!

Brook's Baptism

We were so honored to be asked to be Brook Anne's Godparents.

Our little family-all smiles after the baptism!
(During the baptism I held Connor, while she was chowing down on a bag of apple jacks.  Easier to do that then listen to her scream the whole time if she wasn't up there with me...and Jace was up there too and it seemed as though he had ants in his pants!)

Prepping the Johnson kids for a picture with Brook.
"This is where you are going to sit.  Connor, put your foot down.  Connor, don't touch Brook.  Jace, you are holding Brook...you have to sit still."  (Notice Jace's arms are ready for Brook!)

All was well, until we actually put Brook in the picture.  Connor wasn't happy that she wasn't holding Brook....

Gave Brook to Connor (with me just barely out of the picture...) and Connor sits still and everyone is happy.  Thank goodness Jace is so easy going!

Then you try to get pictures of Grandparents.  Connor, once again, wants to hold Brook.

Once Connor looks at the camera (even though she isn't happy...) Grandma's eyes are closed.  Sigh.  And so it begins.....

But look at Jace in all these pictures...he knows his job and does it well!

Brook Anne.  7 weeks old!

A Royals WIN!

So, Monday we went to a Royals game.
We didn't tell Jace we were going.
Just told him a babysitter was coming to watch Connor, so that Dad, Jace and I could go work in my classroom.
And he bought it.

Then we met some friends in town, and told Jace we were going to follow them.   And then he fell asleep.

He woke up, and after awhile we went by the Royals stadium.

Jace: "Hey!  That's the Royals stadium!"
Us: "Are they playing tonight?"
Jace: "Yeah"
Us: "Wanna go to the game?"
Jace: "Yeah!"

He was super excited, and so were we.

Selfies by Jace during the game....we had great seats for only $30 a ticket!

We went with the Grables...

It was an awesome night--the weather was great, the company was awesome, and the Royals won!

The next day Jace and I headed out to find school shoes and jeans...we shopped all day, and he was a trooper!  But finally, after getting ice cream for on the way home, he crashed.

The last couple evenings we have been going for a ranger ride in the evenings...it has been a lot of fun, and the weather has been great!  Of course we don't just ride...we do field checks!

And, trying to squeeze every last drop out of summer...pancakes for breakfast!

Milford Lake Fish Hatchery

The last day of vacation was cold....but we took the boat out for a cruise anyway...just didn't last long!

We left and headed for the fish hatchery that wasn't very far away....the hatchery was misleading, we didn't see hardly any fish at all.  But, there was a great nature center, butterfly barn, and playground we got to visit for free!

Snakes didn't bother Connor, but these prairie dogs scared the heck out of her!

But everyone loved the playground!

Coincidence that Jace is on the little turtle and Connor is on the big one?  I think not.

That's better.

The day after we got home we had a little nature center of our own....Jed and Jace were showing me where they found a large snake skin, just as Jed is saying, "He can't be far away..." turned around and there he was.

We voted on whether to kill him or set him free....tried to set him free (even though majority (me) wanted him killed), but he kept heading for the shop, so he got killed.  So long....
